Syntara Sustainable Energy is excited to announce the acquisition of an equal ownership stake in JMC Highland, a premier renewable energy and electrical contractor serving Northern Scotland since 1972.

A Strategic Partnership for Growth

This acquisition represents a significant milestone in Syntara's mission to build a foundation of integrated renewable energy installers. As our platform founding acquisition, JMC Highland brings over five decades of operational excellence, deep local relationships, and technical expertise that will serve as the blueprint for our future growth.

By combining JMC Highland's technical capabilities with Syntara's financial strength and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) tariffs and contracts, we are uniquely positioned to remove the financial barriers to renewable energy adoption for businesses across Northern Scotland.

Garreth Porteous

Operations Director

Garreth joins Syntara as Operations Director. With a career built on hands-on technical deployment—from battery storage to grid-connected projects—he combines field experience with disciplined operational leadership. He will oversee the planning, coordination, and safe execution of all commercial solar installations across Syntara group companies.

Mark Ridgeway

Technical Director

Mark assumes the role of Technical Director for Syntara. Focused on process efficiency, safety, and design, Mark ensures every system is engineered with precision. He will set the technical strategy, engineering standards, and system architecture for all PPA projects and group partners.

Precision Machining Services (Caithness)

A 38.5 kWp solar PV system (70 x 550w panels) for a manufacturing facility. The system generated over 40 MWh in its first 18 months, with a projected payback of just 4 years.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Renewable energy installation for the maintenance facility of this prestigious, world-renowned golf club, supporting their sustainability goals and operational efficiency.

Dornoch Hub

Solar PV installation for a key community facility, providing clean renewable energy to support local services and reduce operating costs for the community.
